I live in NI while the RTE Player is part of the Irish Republics state broadcasting system and I was wondering if there was a way to download the IR version and use it as my RTE player? However, having read Slugger O'Tools article it appears not unless you guys know a work around? Jun 11, 2020 · I am trying to set iPlayer up on an Android media player (Mecool), VPN works fine, so I can watch programs in a browser, but then BBC web site does not allow me to download iPlayer app. It says that this device is not supported. My guess is that it’s because this media player does not provide proper DRM support.
RTE Player came out on iOS first but now is on Android devices too (with 100,000+ downloads already). As expected, navigating your way around to the programme that you want on a small device such as an iPod Touch is a little bit difficult because of the size of the screen, but we can’t complain too much about that. To access RTE player unrestricted, including all its content, you will need an Irish IP address. If you are not currently in Ireland the only way to get an Irish IP address is to use a VPN that provides its users with an Irish IP Address. (1) Flash game not working in Silk.
